Tom Wiand, the son of a general dentist, started Wiand Dental Laboratory in 1992. He attended the McCarrie School of Health Sciences and Technology in Philadelphia, PA. With training in all areas of dental laboratory technology, he found removable prosthetics to be the most challenging due to the uniqueness of each case and made it his focus. Tom worked for several dental labs before venturing out on his own to establish Wiand Dental Laboratory, which has become the valley’s premier removable prosthetic dental lab specializing in implant and attachment dentistry. Tom is actively involved in every aspect of the lab on a daily basis. With a staff of 11, we are a family owned, quality driven lab that uses only FDA approved materials and manufactures custom dental prosthetics on our premises. As our doctors are professionals, we too present ourselves in a professional manner. We are a dental laboratory you will be proud to be associated with. Tom Wiand, CDT has been the owner and General Manager of Wiand Dental Laboratory for nearly 20 years specializing exclusively in removable and implant supported and assisted restorations. He was formally educated in dental technology at the McCarrie School of Health Sciences and Technology in Philadelphia where he received his Associates Degree in 1990. An expert in conventional, implant supported and implant assisted dentures, Tom is a Certified Dental Technician (CDT), an elite group of less than 10% of all technicians in the U.S. He is certified on the BPS Brand Prosthetic System from Ivoclar (1998) as well as the Staub Cranial System (2009). Tom also serves as an adjunct instructor at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. In addition, Tom has recently received a Platinum Recognition Award 2009 and 2010 from Biomet 3i for his implant work with CAD/CAM Titanium Implant Bars. He is an active member of the American College of Prosthodontics (ACP), the National Association of Dental Laboratories (NADL) and the Arizona Dental Association (AzDA) and also consistently donates his time, talents and resources to the AzDA DDS program, A.T. Stills C.A.R.E program and the CASS Dental Clinic.
