Overdenture Attachment
This is a case where an implant crown had failed and instead of a new crown, the doctor preferred to use an overdenture attachment and add a tooth to the patient’s existing partial. The severe mal-alignment of the implant resulted in severe obvious challenges, especially with the limited restorative components with the implant system. We corrected the issue by modifying an abutment and fabricating a coping with a semi-precision attachment. To avoid distal dislodgement, we placed the attachment to the lingual, laser welded a metal housing to the framework and then added a denture tooth.
