Least Expensive Acceptable Treatment Clause

We learned so many great insurance tips from Becky Balok when she came to speak at Wiand Dental Lab.

One thing all dentists should do is check with your insurance partners on whether or not they have a “LEAT” clause which stands for the “Least Expensive Acceptable Treatment”.

Becky used the example of an amalgam filling versus a white filling. If they do, you are free to give your patient the option of electing a higher end treatment option and paying the difference.

This will allow you to provide the best dentistry available to your valuable patients.
